MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We want to wish all of our family and friends and very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! As most of you know, today was Patrick's first Christmas and Aaron and I were extremely excited. We only had one "big" toy to put together and that was a toy chest that Aaron's parents sent. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't so bad. Patrick had no idea what was going on this morning. He couldn't figure out why were actually allowing him to rip paper, since we yell and say "NO!" every other time he does it. We took some video of him opening his first gift this morning. Hope you all enjoy! We are all going over to some friends' tonight, so I will post some of the pictures tomorrow. We love you all!

Hope you get a little kick out of this last part of the video. He walked right over to me, took the camera and started chewing on it. You can hear his teeth scraping against the microphone :o)

11 Months Old

We've gotten a ton of snow in the past couple of days, so naturally, Patrick's 11 month pictures would be outside. He reminds me of Randy from "A Christmas Story" in these pictures. If he could talk, I'm sure he'd say, "I can't put my arms down!!!"
I don't even want to think about the fact that he will be 1 year old next month! This year has seriously flown by....

Patrick Walks!

Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Patrick took his first steps on October 29, 2009! Last night (November 5th), he kept staggering around the living room and was so proud of himself. Here's a short little clip for your enjoyment (and amazement). So there you go... our kid walked before he was 10 months old! We're pretty stoked :)

Avett can't get used to Patrick being so mobile these days. She jumps up on the chair or couch to get away from him, but he just scoots over to where she is to bother her.

More Walker Fun (and a Little Trouble)

Patrick's getting into EVERYTHING these days because of his walker. When we went to the beach with Dad and Mary Alice this past weekend, he was opening drawers in the kitchen and almost pulled the garbage can over onto the floor. Now he's trying to open cabinets and always goes to the plant next to the fireplace. We're trying to teach him the meaning of "no" now!

Walking.... Sort of

Dad and Mary Alice bought a walker for Patrick and he looooves it! At first, he could only really go backwards, but now he's getting a hang of walking forward. While I was at an appointment this morning, Mary Alice said Patrick had already knocked over the garbage can in the kitchen and pulled a photo album off the table next to the recliner. Looks like he can get into things even though he's not even crawling! Here are a couple of videos for your enjoyment...

6 Months Old

Patrick turned six months old the day we left Pittsburgh after the 4th of July, but I got a picture of him in Pittsburgh to commemorate his half-year mark!

Patrick Eats Solids for the First Time

When Patrick went for his 4-month check up last week, his doctor said that we could begin feeding him some rice cereal after one of his bottles. I waited until Mary Alice could help me so I could take pictures and video for Aaron while she fed him. If not, I would have had a hard time juggling a huge camera, a digital video camera, and the spoon!

Oh, by the way, he was 15 lbs exactly and 25 inches at his last appointment on May 11!

4 Months Old

Patrick turned 4 months old today! It amazes me how he seems to learn something new everyday. He's now learning to laugh a real laugh, make motorboat noises and he constantly makes "mmmmm" noises.
